Bio

My art work is about layers of information, layers of time/history which influences the direction of my artwork. I take concepts from those who came before me and build upon them. The juxtaposition of textures, colors, and materials, creates a tension of opposites. My passion is drawing and painting using many different types of materials and rendering the figure. As humans, we are fascinated with other humans. We are all unique in body type and personality. The body is strong but fragile in so many ways and I can spend a lifetime investigating this subject without running out of inspiration. My process involves multiple types of paper, photo transfer of images, photo pasting, layers of drawing and painting, numbers, words and other collage materials, I relate all of this information to large data sets, layers of flowing information, fast moving images, accumulation and creative insomnia.
